My two little girls are currently asleep in bed. It’s 8:27pm. I miss them.
They’re growing. The days are long, but they end. Every day.
And that is the truth. The days end. When each day brings it’s own challenges with parenting, just pause and remember my words…they are growing. Our days here are noisy, wild, busy, chaotic but thats what life with kids is. It is also slow, beautiful, rewarding and Gods gift.
As I sit here with my freshly baked choc chip cookie, glass of water and a clean house I look around the lounge that has been played with today. I am getting flashbacks of my 3 year old wearing her daddies sunglasses earlier and saying “hey mum look at me”, while she proceeds to do a funny walk. In the moment I laughed and continued my household duties…but the truth is I want to go back to that small moment right now. Why didn’t I stop what I was doing and sit with her and slow down.
Life is so demanding. We are rushing here, rushing there. When will we slow down and truly be ‘present’. I don’t know about you but I want that right now. I don’t want to wait. Our babies are older every SINGLE day.
While I’m here I would love to mention SOCIAL MEDIA. I deleted (permanently) Facebook & Instagram. Why? It is a GREAT way to be distracted from LIFE. REAL LIFE. Our babies are currently being raised watching us STARE at our screens, feeling like that is more important. While we fill our brains with unnecessary info. It’s been life changing. God has truly given us what we need in this world to survive and thrive. And social media ain’t it.
Try being MIA on social media and PRESENT in real life. Every mama reading this – you are enough for your babies.
This year I have found JESUS. He has saved me. He has redeemed me. I lean on him. He is my rock in motherhood and throughout my life.
Father God, I pray that every mother reading this is blessed by the Holy Spirit and Father. I pray that you bring joy, peace, and patience to all their lives during each day. Thank you Jesus. You are the king of kings. Thank you Jesus. Amen.
Love,
Briana
